NBA CHAMPION DERRICK WHITE AND ALL-STAR TYRESE MAXEY, BLAZERS’ DUOP REATH AND WNBA LEGEND TICHA PENICHEIRO TO COACH TOP PROSPECTS FROM ASIA-PACIFIC AT BASKETBALL WITHOUT BORDERS IN SINGAPORE

– NBA and FIBA’s Global Basketball Development and Community Outreach Program Will Bring Together 60 of the Top High-School-Age Boys and Girls from Across the Region from June 19-22 –

– 15th BWB Asia Camp Will Be Part of NBA’s New Multi-day Basketball and Entertainment Festival That Will Culminate with League’s First Rising Stars Invitational –

SINGAPORE, June 13, 2025 – The National Basketball Association (NBA) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) today announced the top 30 boys and 30 girls who will participate in the 15th edition of Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Asia, which will be held at the Singapore Basketball Centre in Singapore from Thursday, June 19 – Sunday, June 22. BWB, the NBA and FIBA’s global basketball development and community outreach programme, was previously held in Singapore in 2010.

BWB Asia 2025 will bring together 30 boys and 30 girls ages 17 and under from across Asia-Pacific to learn directly from current and former NBA and WNBA players and coaches and compete alongside their peers from across the region. The campers will also take part in life-skills, leadership development and social responsibility programming.

The campers will be coached by 2024 NBA champion Derrick White (Boston Celtics), 2024 NBA All- Star Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers), Duop Reath (Portland Trail Blazers), WNBA legend and 2025 FIBA Hall of Fame inductee Ticha Penicheiro, and current NBA assistant coaches Vinay Bhavnani (Toronto Raptors), Jared Dudley (Dallas Mavericks), Ronald Nored (Atlanta Hawks) and Khalid Robinson (Golden State Warriors). President of the World Association of Basketball Coaches Patrick Hunt will serve as camp director, while Katherine Babcock (Memphis Grizzlies) will serve as the camp’s athletic trainer.

BWB Asia 2025 will be part of the NBA’s new multi-day immersive basketball and entertainment festival in Singapore that will culminate with the “NBA Rising Stars Invitational,” the league’s first regional high-school basketball tournament that will feature boys’ and girls’ teams from 11 countries across Asia-Pacific competing at the Kallang Tennis Hub from Wednesday, June 25 – Sunday, June 29.

The players and coaches will lead the campers through a variety of activities, including movement efficiency drills, offensive and defensive skill stations, three-point contests, 5-on-5 games, and life-skills and leadership development sessions. A ceremony on the final day of the camp will award the Kim Bohuny Camp MVP, the Patrick Baumann Sportsmanship Award, the Three-Point Champion and the Defensive MVP to the male and female players who distinguish themselves on the court and as leaders.

As part of BWB Asia 2025, on Friday, June 20, the NBA will host a youth clinic for boys and girls from SportCares, Sport Singapore’s philanthropic arm dedicated to empowering individuals from vulnerable backgrounds through sport, as well as a coaches clinic with FIBA on Saturday, June 21.

BWB Asia 2025 will be supported by Nike, a global partner of BWB since 2002, which will outfit participants with Nike apparel and footwear.

BWB has reached more than 4,600 participants from 144 countries and territories since 2001, with 132 former campers advancing to the NBA or WNBA, including 2022 NBA All-Rookie Second Team member Josh Giddey (Chicago Bulls; Australia; BWB Asia 2018 and BWB Global 2020), Josh Green (Charlotte Hornets; Australia; BWB Global 2018) and 2020 NBA All-Rookie Second Team member Rui Hachimura (Los Angeles Lakers; Japan; BWB Global 2016). The NBA and FIBA have staged 79 BWB camps in 53 cities across 33 countries on six continents.
