NBA RISING STARS INVITATIONAL: BY THE NUMBERS

SINGAPORE, June 24, 2025 – The inaugural NBA Rising Stars Invitational, the league’s first regional high-school basketball tournament that will feature boys’ and girls’ teams from 11 countries across Asia-Pacific, will tip off on Wednesday, June 25 at the Kallang Tennis Hub in Singapore as part of a multi-day immersive basketball and entertainment festival.

Operated by NBA Singapore, the NBA Rising Stars Invitational is part of the league’s multi-year collaboration with Sport Singapore (SportSG) and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). The five-day tournament will tip off with round-robin play from June 25-27 before advancing to single-elimination semifinals and final games on June 28 and 29.

In addition to the NBA Rising Stars Invitational, the festival will feature a range of interactive experiences for fans of all ages, including player appearances and meet-and-greets, open court sessions, photo opportunities with authentic NBA memorabilia including the Larry O’Brien Trophy, official NBA merchandise for sale, and performances by the Los Angeles Lakers dance team, the Laker Girls, and Miami Heat mascot Burnie.

Below is a look at facts and figures about the NBA Rising Stars Invitational:

1 – The NBA Rising Stars Invitational marks the league’s first regional high-school basketball tournament.

2 – Two teams – one boys’ team and one girls’ team – will be crowned the first NBA Rising Stars Invitational champions and awarded “The Building Ball,” an original trophy designed by renowned artist Victor Solomon who also reimagined the trophies for the NBA, WNBA and NBA G League.

5 – “The Building Ball” is an in-progress build of a basketball with each panel made up of five court slats, etched with a prominent star motif to represent the tournament and its host city, Singapore.

6 – Six current and former NBA and WNBA players will participate in the NBA Rising Stars Invitational: three-time NBA All-Star Domantas Sabonis (Sacramento Kings; Lithuania); two-time WNBA champion Lauren Jackson (Australia); current Phoenix Suns players Ryan Dunn (U.S.) and Oso Ighodaro (U.S.); and former NBA G League player and current B.LEAGUE player Keisei Tominaga (Japan). NBA legend Yao Ming (China) will make special appearances, including attending the opening ceremony on June 25. The players and legends will interact with youth participants on-and-off the court and make appearances at the NBA Fan Zone throughout the week.

8 – The NBA Rising Stars Invitational is supported by eight marketing and promotional partners: Sport Singapore, the Singapore Tourism Board, SoftBank, Karim Family Foundation, Singapore Sports Hub, 2K, New Era, and Wilson.

11 – The tournament will feature boys’ and girls’ teams from 11 countries across Asia-Pacific: Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand.

12 – The multiday festival features 12 different events to engage fans, players and the local community. Highlights include Basketball Without Borders Asia, the NBA and the International Basketball Federation’s (FIBA) global basketball development and community outreach program that took place from June 19-22. Additional events include Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA and Her Time to Play clinics, culminating with the NBA Rising Stars Invitational.

13 – The NBA Rising Stars Invitational will reach fans across Asia-Pacific through 13 media partners: www.basketball.com.au (Australia); CCTV, Kuaishou, Migu, SMG and Tencent (China); Emtek (Indonesia); SoftBank (Japan); Astro (Malaysia); PSN (Mongolia); Cignal (the Philippines); Mediacorp (Singapore); and TrueVisions (Thailand). The event will also be livestreamed on YouTube (@NBARisingStarsInvitational).

18 – Tickets to the NBA Rising Stars Invitational were fully redeemed within the first 18 hours of release to the public. However, fans can still visit the Kallang Tennis Hub on event days for the opportunity to redeem a limited number of tickets each day, including access to the NBA Fan Zone.

50 – More than 50 basketball scouts and coaches will attend the NBA Rising Stars Invitational.

60 – More than 60 media members from across Asia-Pacific have been credentialed to cover the NBA Rising Stars Invitational.

150 – More than 150 local volunteers will be engaged to support the execution of the multiday immersive basketball and entertainment festival.

220 – 220 high-school players will participate in the NBA Rising Stars Invitational. The players will also take part in skill development, social responsibility programming and off-court activities promoting cultural exchange. Additionally, top individual performers from the event will have the opportunity to attend future NBA basketball development camps, showcases and programs.

264 – The Kallang Tennis Hub will be temporarily transformed into a regulation basketball court comprised of 264 wood panels featuring the NBA Rising Stars Invitational logo, with the star motif adorning the outer playing area of the court on the baselines and sidelines.

432 – More than 432 live broadcast hours are scheduled to be distributed to the NBA Rising Stars Invitational media partners across the region.

700 – Open daily from June 25-29, the NBA Fan Zone at the Kallang Tennis Hub will feature more than 700 square meters of interactive basketball and entertainment experiences for fans of all ages.

43,000,000 – Since the NBA Rising Stars Invitational was announced in February, it has generated more than 43 million impressions and 35 million video views on the league’s social media channels.
